]Hello, I am new to Caudata. This is the current set up of my 180l (40g) tank with my 2 axies :bowl:image.jpg

I don't have my axies yet but yesterday I put in my plants after a month of fishless cycling (didn't have time/money until now). It looks so pretty now and I'm so happy with it :) I hope all the plants catch on! I hope the grass spreads out until it has formed a nice carpet around the stones.

Everyone has these absolutely beautiful tanks and I wish I could get creative enough to make something that nice, i just dont like sand! I want to do slate, but i need to wait till my boyfriend finishes our tank stand as i dont want to put the added weight onto the dresser it is on. Though its very sturdy(and its been sitting on the dresser for almost 10months now) slate would add a ton of weight.

But regardless I think mine is coming together slowly :)

This is Little Buddy's 10 gallon tank!

Can someone tell me the amount of current thats acceptable for a baby axie? I can't find a straight forward answer.

I would love to see all of your tanks, dolled up for your happy axies! I know several people have their own threads with their sweet tanks, but maybe the mods can make this one a sticky for us all to referrence? I'm dying to see your creativity and maybe use some ideas for my own 55g tank.

Please and thank you :)

One of my tanks... I have fake grass which is aquarium safe my girls love it,very easy to clean

Looking at adapting further to change around driftwood etc.
Lance (wild type) is hiding in his wall. It is his man den haha

Where did you find your fake grass? It looks fantastic. :)

This is Toaster's new WIP tank. It's looking a little bare so I'll happily take any suggestions for plants/decor ideas :D Excuse the poor photography, my husband took the picture this morning to show me that he's actually venturing outside of his hide now (Toaster, not my husband) I've seen that some people use budgie rings as something to play with so I ordered some, but now I'm not sure how to attach them in the tank. :D

Having endured his log hide being removed for cleaning and being repaced with a strange cave, Axl knows that some fishy treats are soon to come his way.

I'd add some hides and live plants. :) You don't usually have the lights on (this bright), right? It's a nice size though, you can do alot of fun stuff with that tank!

I very rarely turn the lights on, only for cleaning and water testing (daylight bulb is better than the yellow ones we have in our living room to check the colour)

I've got more plants on order, 3 marimo balls, some elodea, some frogbit to shade out some of the light when it does have to be on and some java moss (I was going to put some in shower caddies for shade/platforms and maybe also try to attach it to my budgie rings) though if anyone can recommend some more, very hardy (Toaster is a plant ripper-upper if you couldnt tell.) plants then that would be awesome. I can't decide if I want to get another hide similar to the one he has now or make one myself out of slate.

I think I'm going to convince a friend who has more aquarium experience to come round and help me pretty up the tank a bit actually, I havent the faintest idea of where to start really.

65L one, 2 little axies:) not sure of my pebbles - the guys seem to enjoy them - climbing over, nosing all the time - but it's quite hard to clean, so I may reduce the number of pebbles and fill in some sand in the middle... still learning!
oh, and the light is on only for the pic:))

Beautiful tank!
Please remove the small gravel though, as your axies can eat them and develop a blockage!

Thank you - and I have removed little pebbles since - and added a feeding bowl:) I'm learning something new every day!!!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
