Please post pictures of your tank!!

Can you have such rich vegetation without putting potting soil in your tank? im planning to have dense vegetation but im afraid of the dangerous ammonia level i might introduce when i put the soil (i have no access to test kits, and cant risk) thanks!

I don't have any soil in my aquarium, just play sand and a little fertilizer. So yes it is possible to achieve a densely planted tank without potting soil.

thanks, abby! what kind of fertilizers do u get?

I use a liquid fertilizer called Pro-plant made by Kent Marine. I use half the recommended dose twice a week.

My 14 gallon tank home to my new Axolotl, pretty basic at the moment, I plan on buying a 3ft tank after summer and finding another mature axie so she has a friend :) i don't use the light (used it to eliminate pesky reflections) and the tank has been a solid 18c so far (66f ish)

Divided my 40 gallon, have my bigger guy on the left, and two little ones on the right. I can't wait for them to catch up in size so they can be together!

My 3ft 100l Tank, which is cycling, due to recieve 2x Baby Axolotls, which I pick up on Saturday. Just ordered a new fake plant, air pump with spray bar and a VW Camper Van ornament to replace that horrible boat! Will post pictures up of Axolotyls once i have got them safely home!

Im just struggling with actual immersible plants that have cool colours

hello all! i'm new! thought i'd put my tank up though. let me know what you think...it's currently home to 2 small axolotls....Axl and Slash. it's a tiny bit different atm cos instead of the plant at the back they have a moss ball and couple plants were replaced with new ones

Axl having a snooze in the hide

sorry for my **** photography! lol.

Aliwoo nice tank :) Unfortunately the plant in the front left is not a true aquatic plant and will die rather quickly causing water problems. Put it in a pot with some soil and it'll live :) Its annoying that lfs still sell them as aquatic plants.

I had that problem too, they sell those so they die and you have to go back and buy more. Lovely tank though

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.
