Oh my goodness. I'd kill to have the space and money to have a tank that big!! I'd be over the moon decorating it haha. Plus it would mean space for more axolotls

Yeahhh, that tank is huge i would be careful with your DIY light setup that it doesn't fall and shatter into your tank.

Do you plan on scaping it?

My tank ^^
Made with love for my Axies

Very pretty. I really like the first picture a lot. And the simplicity of it is just...Nice.

Thanks for the praise! I really like my tank, is simple and natural, just need put more plants, but I need more experience to do, it is my first.

Painting would be way easier than latex and cheaper. But still a nice setup!

Great Tank Jenste!

Try to shoot a photo with the light of the ambient turn off. Just the light of the tank. Probably you will take a good result.

That actually is the only light on in the room!
The tank light is being reflected up/away from the tank by the leaves of the floating water hyacinth. The hyacinth are a great shade making plant, suck up tons of ammonia and are light lovers.

hahaha good illumination on the room!!
Good to know about the hyacinth, I'm search for plants of my tank, at the moment I have just some moss. Received a new plant, but i dont know the name, I will post photos here, maybe someone know.

It looks perfect to me! I loooove the turtle; I had one too but the bubbles made too much of a current for my liking haha

I would remove the piece of glass and turtle and also take the plants out of their pots and put them directly in the sand, and maybe add some more sand so the plants can grow better roots. I also put a little ball of fertilizer under the roots.

thankyou thankyou!! i thought it was just way too cute to resist!! i'm not quite sure how it will go, i figure i can just detach the air if it's creating too much water movement

thanks for the feedback SanderB, i appreciate it, but may i ask why you think that?

Dans really like your tank, so simple but looks awesome. Upload more photos when you have added some plants.

I assume the glass is for feeding them on Birdyy? I don't see a problem with it because it's really no different to having a feeding jar (which some people find easier as opposed to hand feeding etc). Yeah it's a cute little ornament to have, even without the air bubbles. I'm hoping to give my tank a more natural look by filling it with driftwood and plants

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.
