It looks fine, you can grow moss on the rock by either gluing it with super glue or tieing it down with cotton thread or fishing line, just make sure there are no sharp ends of the fishing line for the axie to get cut on.

If growing plants you need to also consider lighting and nutrients

Hey

I'm loving everyones tanks. Here are a few pics of my axolotl's tank. It is a 4ft tank and has 4 adults living in it (3 females & 1 male). It has a sand floor, bubble wall (which they love laying on) and fake plants. I would love live plants but the light is not on long enough to help them grow. My lottles don't mind the light as I have the globe covered with a doubled over chux cloth to dull it down and they don't get startled by I when it comes on (like they did when it is uncovered). The light is not left on for hours at a time but it is handy when I feed and clean their tank.

I also put in close up pics of my lottles. My girls are Gazoo (brown) Fizz (yellow) & Jaxalotl (black) and Guss (white) is the male. Fizz and Guss both came from pet shops and are looking much healthier then when I first got them although I would like to see them a bit plumper. Gazoo belonged to a friend, then her mum when she got sick of her, then me when I got Fizz. Jaxalotl belonged to another friend who didnt look after her very well. He thought Jax was a male (hence the name) but although we now know better the name has stuck. She has weird green patches on her from her previous home but they dont seem to bother her so I assume they are nothing serious. I'm not sure how clear they are in the pic but does any one have any idea what the cause could be?

not as fancy as the rest, but it is getting there! if I can keep these new plants alive I will add more :) still unsure if I want to eventually do sand; bare bottom seems so easy to clean and vacuum! plus no clouding with water changes. When I get a bigger tank for him, I really want to do a planted one!

Nice golden axolotl!

And here is the finished product! Lots of live plants and just used some fabric as a backdrop to hide the canister filter ;)

This is the 10 gallon that our leucistic and golden albino ilo and milo are currently calling home. The hides are out for a good cleaning, and of course they used that opportunity to leave a nice little 'package' in the middle of the aquarium:

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
