My axolotl just laid eggs

I plan on getting something to use for a feeding tray in it, and doing millions of water changes until it finally clears. Right now I'm waiting for it to settle, then I'll go from there and possibly let the filter run for a bit.

Not a bad idea. I've done that in the past before.

Also picture update.

They look great! How many do you have in total? Thanks for the update by the way. :D -Seth

Between 44/46 at this point. I believe Ive only lost 4 from hatch to now out of the 50 I've started with. I'm not going to bother counting out for sure until they need to be separated. Theyre all growing at a pretty constant rate though.

That's a good turnout! Man you have a way of being there when someone posts! Seems like every time I post you post like two minutes after!. -Seth

Thanks I try. I probably devote far too much time to my kids. Lol that's because everything is connected to my phone so unless I'm super busy I can sneak a peek and reply

So today I was able to see the green from the gfp on one of my leucy babies. It's very exciting to know they have green eyes like their momma. There's a few in here with some beautiful green that I think are gfp wilds too. No telling for sure until I take them to my guys to check though since I don't have a black light

Ooh, I love the middle one in the second pic! :D . Getting big! :D -Seth

We're pretty sure it's my friends melanoid. They threw about the same that she usually gets with her female leucy only with more leucisitcs usually. The other option is my wild type boy.

The eyes are showing green like the gfp in mom. Some of the wilds are very green due to the gfp, I think I need to wait a little longer for them to get bigger to really see the effects.

Sweet :D What's an ok size for babies to be re-homed at? I know lots of people sell them as juvies because of shipping and all, but if they're not having to be transported in the mail I wonder how small is ok for them to be given new homes?

I'd probably be willing to let some go after their front legs are fully grown in. They already have little nubbies so probably a another few weeks.

Oh good. The GFP should be nice and noticeable by then. Some of the leucistics have yellow blotches of gfp coming in along with some of the melanoids. I'm super excited. Plus lots of healthy wilds.

Since they're going to be my Christmas present, I talked to my boyfriend and he was good with 3 :D I figured I'd go with one of each color. I'm so excited :3 So, how long will they be needing blackworms? You would probably be my only food source until I get my wormies up and running.

I'm not sure how many melanoids Ill have, I do know some people that want them, but Ill try to put one away for you if you want one of each :3 If nothing else Im sure Ill have babies again in the future. Well my kids stay on black worms until theyre big enough to move onto red wrigglers. I try to keep all my kids on live food as much as possible. So around 3/4 inches is when I start switching them over. Depending on the kid this could take a few months. I buy all my worms from Barbie right down the road from me but I'm buying in bulk currently so I can throw you some for a few bucks no problem.
