Lol, of course... I love my axi teddies :D

Mmm I like the teapot too, I think it looks great
Awww thats so sweet, tell him thanks for me
Well thats good, knowledge is always a great thing... it means he'll be a good pet owner one day too

I'm thinking of getting my girl a friend... but waiting a little while

Redecorated my axolotl tank the other day. It is 4ft long, and 400L (105.6G).
This is the home to three happy 'lotls (well two at the moment.. the other has a bit of fungus and is in hospital.. but recovering well)!

Still cloudy here, all cleared up now.. but my camera batteries died, so can't get a clear photo right now. :(

Nice tank Sarah, I would add some more plants and stones, your axolotls will apreciate that.

This is my home for my four little axies, it's 4 by 1 foot. They seem to be quite happy with it and have been exploring since they were introduced last night. Oh, the plants with the lead on have gone, they were there to keep them alive until they went to their new home.

My little 10 Gallon

The bigger 4ft 56ish Gallons with my 2 adults in it

And the tank and stand (that I designed) and that I am about to order custom built. I found the aquarium pic online and LOVED the rock wall so I will be doing that in it when I can remove the dividers it will have in there to start with. Add LOTS of plants and that's pretty well what it will look like. It's a 5x2x2 (149 Gallons) Minus the fish of course ;) taking care there are no sharp edges.

What did you use to get plants to grow from the side of your 4ft tank? It looks brilliant!

Thank you :D
Not sure which plants you're looking at :( If you're talking about the long strappy ones (Vallisneria gigantica americana) it's planted in the sand behind the rock caves, right in the corner, and the top of the cave has been pushed back almost against the glass to keep them out of the way  it does kind of look like it's growing off the side of the tank.

Hi guys! these tanks are rocking! When I have the funds saved up and mine actually looks good I'll post a photo :) Inca has to settle in a little more as well first.

I've been thinking about decorating a little differently than a lot of your ones... Is it incredibly important to have greenery? (Don't worry - I'm going to be getting some greenery asap)! And also, have any of you tried out terracotta pots in your tanks? What is the general opinion?

Axel Tank.jpg

Not the best pic, but i used the pots because they were much cheaper than anything else I could find. Plus with 3 tanks to set up I wasn't going to be picky.

The black and white tank is a temporary for my two baby lotls. They're leucistic and melanoid, hence the black and white theme.

The kitchen tank is currently Swarley's, and eventually Momo and Toothless's too.

Kat in that first picture you seem to have a cat-fish in the tank! :D

Heres mine, I think its still a little bald looking, but hoping to get some live plants in there soon when the shop has them in stock and I have money!:

 That would be my kitten, Lily, who is currently meowing at me. Now that I think about it she goes quite well with my gold, black, and white lotls being a calico lol! ;)

Here is a pic of my tank I just snapped. It's home to 2 axies, both female. if you look carefully, you can see my melanoid and the tail of my golden axie.

I also grow peace lilies in the trickle filter above the tank. it works wonders keeping the tank water healthy, I have zero ammonia, nitrate and nitrite.

Seeing as we're all talking kitties, I'll add my Billy (who used to be called Lilly, before we knew he was in fact male) cat into the mix...;)

Waiting for my little one to arrive tomorrow :) the painting is by my lovely lady. I've been scouring charity shops for plastic dinosaurs but no luck so far. Actually, is there any sort of plastic that I should avoid?

That's a cool setup. Add some greenery though, to give them somewhere to hide and play...

And plastic... hm, i would avoid them altogether within a tank as your axie might eat it or destroy it..

Ok that is a point. It would be cool to have some dinosaurs in with the lotl though...
Yep, plants will be on their way as soon as my bank balance stops saying £1.80. I hate waiting for cheques to clear! Hopefully the teapot and mug will be ok for the moment.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
