Cycling - am I on the right track?

Just checking in to see if it is getting any closer to cycled Mandy?

Are you sure it is not going anywhere? Maybe it just needs a little longer? Seems a shame to start all over. Maybe do a large water change or add a pinch of food?

Were you able to source any seeded material?
 
Hey Mandy,
could you perhaps post the readings as well as pictures of the tank?

I wouldnt start over if i was you. Your Nitrites have come down a lot, give it some time

Nice tank setup :)

I would be tempted to keep topping up the ammonia and just keep going with it for the moment. I think it may just need a little more time. But I am at a little bit of a loss here and hope someone may be able to better advise you on what else you could try to get in moving along.

It could be the lighting also but there could be a very very minute amount of nitrate there. It looks a little bit more of a orange shade of yellow?
 
It always seems to be that colour like a dark yellow maybe with a slight orange tinge

Hmm.. it does seem like there is some nitrate there, just a very minute amount. When my tank tested zero for nitrate it was a bright fluorescent yellow with no shade of orange at all.

Keep going with it and hopefully it starts to speed up.

Finally today after almost 5 months my tank is cycled :) I never want to do that again lol

I can't believe it took that long and no idea what I was doing wrong but I left it for about 4 without doing anything to it and today I came and checked it and it is fully cycled lol

It took a very long time! I have no idea why it took so long but at least it is finally there :)
