Illness/Sickness: Urgent: swollen head

Well I took her for her third injection today and they are concerned that not enough improvement has been made. She doesn't look significantly better and she kept holding her arms strangely and kept rolling onto her back when I put her in her transport tub. They had a look and there's nothing wrong with her arms so I'm guessing it might be a stress response.
They put another needle in her head and removed as much pus as they could and I have to take her back in on Friday morning. They said if she hasn't improved significantly by then I will have to take her to the specialist out of town where she can be anaesthetised and examined more thoroughly. I'm really hoping this doesn't have to happen as I'm now so short of money! Also the travelling on the bus to the local practice is incredibly stressful for her so I'm dreading a forty minute journey both ways if she has to go to the specialist :(

Oh poor Burrito

Being stressed is understandable with all she's been through & I'm sure she knows it for the best & done out of love.

I hope the recovery speeds up & you don't need to go for specialist treatment.
I'll continue to keep everything crossed for your little one :)

I hope you don't have to see the specialist either. Heal up well, Burrito!

Fingers crossed too, I hope she gets better very very soon for you.

She ate a couple of pellets today :D I was really surprised as they're the hard ones, but I'd tried everything else I could think of. Her mouth now closes fully and she's more active. Still got a bit of a bump on her head and still runs away from worms of all sizes, but I think she's on the mend.
We're going to the vet first thing tomorrow. Hoping they won't need to send us to the specialist....

We're all rooting for Burrito. Sounds like he is on the mend. :)

That's great news about eating :D

I hope Burrito's visit to the vets goes well & no specialist needed - look forward to the update :)

Burrito's cheer squad all have their pompoms out & shakin em about :D

Fingers-crossed she doesn't have to go, but that all sounds like positive signs!

Well the vet was very happy with her progress so I don't need to take her in again unless it gets worse again. She seems much more like herself but still didn't want worms or prawns. She had another 2 pellets but will only eat them if she catches them mid-fall. Strangely she doesn't seem to have lost weight, despite not eating properly for a couple of weeks.

Here is Burrito feeling much more like her old self :)

It works better with pictures.....

I cannot 'like' this post enough! :D
There should be a 'love it' button too!

It's so good to see Burrito back to looking very healthy & cute as ever.

I hope that all the health worries are over & Burrito's life is long & healthy from now on.

Congratulations & many thanks to you for doing everything you did for your little guy :)

I'll be even happier when she starts eating properly again. I normally hand feed her but now she must associate my hand with a trip to the vet. She's still eating a few pellets and not losing weight but she's definitely over the worst. Thanks for all the support and encouragement everyone <3

She ate a worm this morning!! Very happy- now going to find some more for her :)

Aww such an improvement! She's going to be totally fine :D
