It would seem that Cthulhu's tail is growing faster than the rest of him.
From the front, it's all wavy looking, kinda like a ribbon. Unfortunately he gets too excited when he sees the camera for me to get a good picture of it.

Okay so I bought Wooper a new cave the other day, and he was called turtleotl for a day.

But who needs a new fancy cave when you've got a rock, log and a tank wall to sleep against?

He stayed like this sleeping for hours.

It seems like no matter how fancy we make their tanks, or how many nice hides we put in, they're always more content sleeping somewhere crazy. Mine likes to sleep hanging upside down on one of the plants in the corner.

Yes! My copper loved his plant. But the plant died a little so I had to remove it. Still need to buy a new one like that. But now mister is swimming around actively looking for his favorite bed.

I'm trying to learn how to post pictures hope it works.
One of My three axies (Deedo ) likes to investigate the camera when the others hide. It's really enjoyable :) She's a lot more yellow now then she was when i got this pic though

She does the same thing my Cthulhu does when I pull the camera out. :D It's so cute watching them wiggle up to the surface.

My copper Cake does the same thing. I can't make a picture of his funny poses because everytime he 'smells' movement, he gets excited and starts to become all hyper and curious.
"Look at meee! I'm awesome! Weee!"
Me: "Oh well. Why not another picture of you being manic..." *Click*

That has to be the greatest picture ever. Your axolotl has one of those permanently serious faces.

Your little babies are so adorable! They remind me of when Cthulhu was little.

:) yeah he's got a lot of nicknames.

Carlos is a cross between a pig and a walrus I think!

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
