I love all the different colours but I think that the pink babies always look the happiest!

Twice the awesomeness and cute-tivity!

...I noticed Dweeby trying to get to me through a hole she couldn't fit through... I couldn't help myself, I just HAD to tease her :p

Inspired by Nikki's (Piggy Lotl-) pictures above :) I have tempted my babies with tubifex. It's amazing to see them struggling with these 'spaghetti'-clews :D

Aww when I took a quick look at these pictures I thought this cute axie wasn't able to put on lipstick the right way.

Hi, I noticed you have bamboo in your tank, do you have it totally submerged? Also do you have anything on the bottom other then sand?
I just sat up tank to cycle, and I put the bamboo in and just very small pebbles, do you think it will grow ok.
I am very new Newbie. all the help you can give me is gratefully appreciated.

Hi there....pebbles aren't a great idea for axies....you're best of with sand or nothing, although there are some great ideas on here where people have used what looks like astro turf. Axies can swallow small pebbles and they can get impacted in their gut causing all sorts of problems. Would strongly suggest removing them before they can cause any damage.

Welcome to the forum...some great people on here and some very sound advice for us newbies. :)

WOW! what awesome gills on this one, he/she is beautiful

That smile! *Squeee!*

Thank you for the info. I just ordered some sand, very fine sand at that, it is called Tahitian Moon, a beautiful black color. I thought that would be a good color because I am waiting to order a Goldie and an Albino, again thank you for the heads up about the pebbles.

I love seeing all these pics.....I think I'm turning into an axie geek. They fascinate me and the more I see and read the more fascinated I become.

Here's Rosie's NEW tank at work. The one she was in was too small and I felt sorry for her, so over the weekend in went the new one. She's in her element but missed her black mug, so popped that back in this afternoon. She found it almost immediately and was soon sat happily looking out of it.

I think it's been a bit of sensory overload for her.....for the first time EVER she has sand under her feet. It was sooooo cute to see the little footprints this morning and knowing she'd had a good nose round over the weekend.

Anyway, love all the tank and axies photos...keep them coming guys. :)

Please don't put Tahitian moon sand in your tank. Another axie owner had it in her tank for a while and it killed two of her axies as it has some really sharp bits in it :( Unipac do a nice axie safe dark grey/black sand :)

Just reaaranged the tank to give more floor space in his hide. We had a cold snap here for us and the tanks been about 19deg. Little mate has been quiet.. tank is back to its usual 21ish deg. And hes out wandering round.. Tough northern tropics aussie lotl.. Likes the heat...

Unfortunately he also fell off his new hides roof 3 times. Gave up and hes back on the floor again amongst his ornaments lol....

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
