Hello Neil, Yes i noticed allso a fiew diffrences in the europian copper and the coppers in australia. Like:
the pinkish underskin of the europian copper is with young age only good visable at the leggs and tail. ( you can see it on the pictures i posted.) When become adult and a fiew years old it totaly disaperes and the animal becomes darker, like you can see in this link:
Axolotlgroepnederland - Axolotl Groep Nederland - Topic: eitjes koper koppel (1/2) and a slight lighter animal
Axolotlgroepnederland - Axolotl Groep Nederland - Topic: Mijn kopers (4/5) these are indeed the tipical collors of the europian copper.
Allso the red eyes are not good visable with the naked eye.. you can see in good light they have a glimb of red but its just a tiny little and fast glimb. if you have glasses you would not see it lol.. Allso it seems that not evryone can capture the red eye on picture. It shure needs the right light flash and diafragma and stuff. So a lot of people like i did two, a year before did not believe they have some kind of reddish eyes. But i have made so many pictures of them now, and i have noticed the red glimp that i am shure they indeed have some reddish red eyes.
Well those are little diffrences but as we name them they are similar like you call olive/copper in Australia
*white eggs
*pinkish underskin
*red eyes
We are lucky we still have like we call it a pure copper bloodline. Most of the coppers come from this bloodline and as far we can go back this line is never crossed with other collors. These coppers came from Claudia whish got offspring from Günter Schultschik whish got offspring from Henk Wallays. And now like i do we will ceep this trend and ceep this kind separated from other collors. Maby this allso explains why they all look that similar till so far.. This trend is maby over 20 years old with this well bred bloodline.
I am allso happy to share some eggs with you i got from someone who bred them. Its maby they second bred in the netherlands so far we know.
