Tank setup help........ pleeaaaassssseeeeee

From a quick look there is one in wandsworth, one on downham the one on lee high road
but I think the one closest to you will be:
Gas Ancillary Services Ltd 358 Brockley Road,
LONDON,
SE4 2BY.

They will sell earthworms in different amounts and sizes. if you just ask for there smallest pot it will only cost £2-3 and will last about a week in the fridge, they also do them in supreme animal foods in ladywell. when my leeroy started on earthworms he grew and grew.

Any bait shop will sell safe earthworms so no need to worry.

Oh thanks that very helpful :D and u didnt know supreme animal foods sold them well now i know of some more placesi will work on getting then some... Cant wiat until they get a bit bigger so they can start to look like little puppy dogs lol and so i know they are nice and healthy just cant wait to put them in my tank which will hopefully be on tuesday , im putting the sand in today and doing 100% water change with dechlorinated water so will it be ok to put them in tuesday or should i leave the tank a bit longer...? I would have done it sooner but i had been very busy so im finally doing it now....

well in two days you will not have time to start a cycle so all you can do is make sure everything is running smoothly...good luck!

Thanks, i was planning to start the cycle with them... I put the sand in and i love it, looks great :D... After giving my mum a foot massage for ages last night :errr: lol i think i may have convinced her to get me my test kit today, hopefully she will and not just say she couldnt find one lol.... But if she does can i put them in the tank tonight or should i let the sand settle a bit more.. Last night before i went to bed i coudldnt see through the to the other side of the tank but i could when i woke up... So do you think it would be ok to put them in tonight or wait a little longer....

Did you was the sand first? It should be pretty clear by now really...is it too much bother to change water? if you have a thermometer and test kit than yes there is no difference between getting them in now than tuesday...do you have hides in the tank?

Yep i washed it first, first out the garden then in the bath then back out the garden then in the bath and then out the garden and then in the bath i never want to do it again lol.... The water is really clear now it dosnt look 100% clear about 95%.. It would be abit to much trouble to change the water but if i have to i quess you gota do what you gota do... I have some PVC pipe and i asked my mum for some fake or hardy plants and stuff so hopfully i will get some more interesting stuff for them to explore and hide in but i won't hold my breath lol...

No need to change water it will clear very soon, as long as there is one pvc pipe each and you know the parameters and temperature you can put them in...but you have to have the test kit and know temperature...my tank was 22deg this morning

Ok thats a relief, i have a thermometer and will only put them in if i get the test kit... iv been trying to keep my room cool.. I kept my bedroom door open and the window wide open, took the hood off and have the fan on the water so hopfully this will work to try and keep the temperature down....

Is it a house fan? if so it may upset you axolotl a bit my albino is petrified of the fan. all the levels should be zero it is just better to know

Yeah but my water is quite high so they won't be anywhere near it, if they do mind then i will consider something else... Ok i was going to anyways but should i test the water before i put them in just to make sure there isn't any other sources of ammonia...

yes of-course you have to test water daily and change water accordingly... I do not mean the water movement it is either the noise or vibration but she gets really un-easy

Oh yeah i got it just double checking and the fan dosnt make any noise or vibration i think it will be ok... But i will moniter it and that... Thanks for all your help and that.. This forum could have potentially saved my axolotls lives and i will let you know how they are getting on and put up some pictures of them in thier new tank
