Photos of my new Paludarium (building process)

Re: Fotos of my new Paludarium (building process)

Viperalus - The black silicone is there to hide the yellow greatstuff indeed, as Dane said.

Dane - Most of the 'fancy' plants died. This was also because the lamp died...now I have a new (cheaper) lamp and decided to stick to ferns and climbing plants. The moss died, as expected. If I'd have a 2nd chance, I'd choose a more acidous underground for the moss and less light hours. I have to cut some of the plants, as some have grown too big. I'll make a photo soon.

Whoo - Thanks! I've used some of the silicone as a glue too indeed.

Jausi - I have not removed the styrofoam.

I know this is an old thread, but can anyone give me the name of the plant that is in the basket on the background?

I bought one a month ago, the woman in the store didn't know what it was, it looks kind of like a fern, hairy black stems but with single heart-shaped leaves and it thrives in moist conditions.

Gorgeous paludarium btw.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
