My axies bred!

Sorry Alex not been on a while - glad to hear all going well !

They lie on their sides the first few days (but you probably know that now). They don't eat the first day ot 2 so don't bother to move lol.

My ex's batch is down to about 20 still alive. They are eating etc and getting bigger but don't have any limbs yet - progress seems a little slower than expected lol

yea mines the same. im getting about 2 deaths a day for the last 4 days?. the ones that are dieing look like the tail has been snapped sideways?.

just keep the water clean and aerated and make sure the food is small enough for them to eat.

Ours have got little legs now - so sweet :)

Hey,

I had some brineshrimp trouble aswell when I was raising my baby axolotls last year but figured out a good and simple way to get the brineshrimp to the axies without too much mess and wastage.

the shrimp egg shells are lighter so should float on the surface. I then used a little plastic hose like the ones that attach to bubble stones to siphon some shrimp from the middle and bottom of the container into a small fine coffee filter.

Then I rinsed the shrimp in the filter in a bit of running tap water to get the salt out and then waved the coffee filter with shrimp around in the axie container to get the shrimp out. That seemed to work really well.

Hope it's any use to you and helps feed your little ones. Good luck with raising them 8)

Cheers Steffi
