My jar is plastic and I noticed everyone else's is glass. It it ok? I managed to get them to go into it on the second day by having them follow the feeding tweezers.

Eh, i cant see it would be really harmful, but sometimes plastic leeches bad stuff. I would just put it in for say half hour whilst they feed, then remove it when they are done. My dish doesnt stay in anyway, i remove it after every feeding and when they see the lid come off the tank and the dish go in, they all gather round and wait for food
It is a great size and shape. I found them easy to work with since they have a flat bottom. Less of a mess. The mouth is as large as the body, so it matches my axolotls.Lol.
My axies are about 10 and a half inches long...I found a glass biscuit barrel in our local pound shop with a screw on lid....it's ideal and two axies can fit in it quite happily at feeding time. Makes cleaning up after them easier and I tend not to end up with blood worm all over the tank.
I've used a shallow dish to feed my axie for months, it stays in the tank 24/7. I recently tried feeding jars as she often misses a few pellets and they pollute the water if they stay in too long (I fish any out after a few hours). She doesn't seem to understand the feeding jar and it takes way too much effort to coax her into it. Probs going to go back to dishes tomorrow.
Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.
He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. What do we think? https://www.amazon.com/Reptile-Simulation-Adjustable-Temperature-Tortoise/dp/B0CH1DPGBC
