absolutely adorable. I'm sure that must have been terrifyingly scary to see the eggs like that at first, but i'm glad they turned out all right and healthy!

One week later...

Tina proudly presents.............the rear legs

The last days they´ve been fed with phantom midge larvae and non-biting larvae; so today they got some daphnia for meal. They are growing fastly and are round about 4 cm in size.

2 days ago there was the time to leave the old home (much too small) and now they live in their first tank. I will fill up the water level in the further days (Whats the opposite of lower the water level? Please tell me) and soon they´ll get their first live plant - maybe next week?

I was just wondering about your babies! They are looking fantastic and growing so well! I love the changes in their coloring! Great job! Now, they just get too adorable with all their silly little antics!

Oh, the opposite of lower or lowering water levels is raise or raising water levels.

@deliriah - so, when are you going to give in and add an axolotl or 10 to your brood?! lol

omg, the little babies are growing so fast.
I´ve just read my post I´ve written 2 weeks ago - they were 4 cm in size. Today they are 6 - 7 cm in size. It´s unbelivable!

They live in a 60 cm tank (54 litre) now and are doing well.

Okay, so what permits do I need again to get some of these guys?!? jk...They are looking fantastic! I know how proud you must be of them all! They are growing so quickly! It's just too much fun to watch how high they "jump" during feeding time and they are just so silly at this size! Well done, Tina!!

They are not that hard to raise from eggs, if you wana do it I'll be glad to help you. I currently have 20 baby wilds

Wow that would be great! I am pretty nervous to get started, but I have slowly been setting up everything. I'm going to go buy sand today.

20?! That's a lot!! I would only be able to have maybe... 6 or 7 at the most. I have a 55 gallon tank and a 20 gallon tank. I have some other smaller ones that I could use to separate the babies though as well. I do want to get... I think it's called leusistic? The pink ones with the dark eyes. I'd like to get an assortment. I think it would be so much fun to raise them. I've been reading up so much about all of this. I'm going to try setting up a BBS hatchery soon. And I've also got a wormery started. :grin:
I still am looking for a stand to go along with my tank. I am so excited to start all of this that I am beginning to get impatient! Haha.

I know that I am spamming my own thread, but I´m so excited of these little guys. They are making me so happy.

Some days ago they went to a new home again. It is a 60 l (15 gal US) tank with fine sand on the bottom, plants and hiding places.
When I took them into the new tank, they immediately begun to "eat" the sand, but spread it out as soon as possible. "Ugh, that doesn´t taste!!! ......Why don´t we get our beloved bloodworms, Mom?"
But they "ate" the sand and spread it out again and again, and they ran through the tank like a herd of buffalo and only a few minutes later their nicely arranged tank looked nasty.
I´ve never seen axies grabbing in the sand like these little coppers. :lol:

I couldn´t bare it any longer and so I fed them some bloodworms.

Hi all,

I´ve raised many axies in my life, but never before any copper. There´s a difference in the behavior between copper and other axie colors.
The copper are much more active, especial during feeding time.
"Normal" axies walk over the ground searching for food and (my) coppers are always running. They are really hectic at feeding time ......and they are always searching.
There is steadily action in the copper tank.
