Still no changes here... Both still alive but no improvement not worsening either. Don't know what to do.

Ningyo, the leucistic one, passed away today ?. Since she was not showing progress or worsening we tried to gradually increasing the temp in order to put her back in the tank. First all was well in the tank but after An hour she lay upside down on the tank floor. We immediatly got her out and put her back in to the fridge. In the evening her gills were pale but she was still moving. Today, she died. She is with the vet now who will try to figure out wat was wrong in order to try to help Pachua. I feel really bad and guilty that I wasnt there to prevent this from happening.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

At least you know you tried everything you could possibly think of to help her.

Pachua was still alive untill this week. He refused to eat since a few months ... though he was still walking around in his tank. The bloat didnt go away. Every day we hoped for it to be a little better but it didn't work out that way. We decided to put an end to his misery and our vet euthanised him this week ... :( we miss him.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
