Yeah she's pretty chunky in real life, the pictures don't do her much justice. I'll post another so you can see her size. I have no clue exactly how old she is as I've rescued her along with her tank mate (she'd bitten all his legs off three had already grown back and she'd chewed at them but not off and she stole all the food so he's like a stick.. But getting fatter now and is just regrowing his last leg that was completely bitten off). They're both super happy and healthy and I have a baby copper who is the sweetest. But judging by their length my rescue two are definitely adults.
Glad the meds are doing some good! I really hope they do pull through... Please keep me updating I'm really rooting for these guys.
sorry I can't be of much help, I would have obviously recommended antibiotics for the bacteria, but clever you had a vet on the case straight away (there's none around here for me, so I'm screwed if I ever need it).
Here are the pictures of my lotls.
He's the one who got starved and had some leg issues haha! He's about 10/11 inches
She's the speckled wildtype I showed you before. She's about 10 inches or so.
I'd show you my baby too but I'm unsure as to how many photos we are supposed to upload? I've used other forums that don't even allow it due to space or something so..
Most axolotls have "necks" a dip in from their belly to their head, where it goes slender.. You can tell a lotl is skinny when they're just straight up and down and no big curvy belly.
But yeah, I'm thinking the antibiotic will do a world of good, I saw a lotl who was literally the size of a big tennis ball and she recovered using antibiotic to my amazement so! ??
