Will newly hatched axies handle travel?

Excited! Two have hatched this morning!
She only started laying 12 days ago.
I found two more developing eggs in my tank last night and atleast another three are developing from the container of eggs I thought were unfertilized!

I hope my food arrives in the post today!!! :errr:

Hi
I have had four hatch today so far.
Am a little surprised as I did find one in the tank when I cleaned it on the Monday, but my axie didn't really start to lay eggs until Tuesday Night/Wednesday.
Luckily my food also arrived today too, time to get hatching :D

oh sorry i never even knew those existed

Definitely NOT a Melanoid, he has irrediphores (sp.)
He's a wild type

Mel

Thanks Mel, he has the reflective ring in his eyes too. I did read that somewhere, but cannot remember which type has it and my internet is playing up today and wont let me search. grrr

51 hatched today :D
Hope my Brine shrimp hurrys up and hatches

Shiney eye ring is non melanoid.

He's a wild type.

Good luck with the babies :D

Mel

All good so far, fed them for the 1st time last night, but they didn't seem to eat.
The brine shrimp in the axie tank was still alive this morning, which really surprised me.
Fed them again this afternoon and a few of the babies took off around the tank, so I hope that means they are eating. Still a few eggs left to hatch, no fatalities yet but one deformed baby I will need to put down. :(

My first brine shrimp hatch was a success
I used sea water and added a bit of salt. Pretty happy about it seen as though I didn't test any water or measure anything

Sounds good :D

Some wont eat straight away as they will still have their yolk sac.

Good news on the baby brine shrimp, i dont measure any of mine out so i struggle to give advice as to how much to use.

Cant wait to see pictures

Mel

I was wrong, it's the same one and she laid eggs 15 days ago!

And the babies are eating this morning :D Flitting around the container chasing BBS :D

1st water change done!
70 hatched, 1 had to be put down(deformed), ten still to hatch.
NO fatalities except for the one I had to dispose of.

Sounds like it's time to separate your males and females. Constant breeding can be stressful to females, to the point of affecting their health.
