hi im from portsmouth, and the aquatics i got mine from the bloke in there was selling them for £25 each but because i wanted both his wild types and one had no legs (maybe he did`nt know they grew back) he sold me the pair for £30.

Charlotte, I got both my Axies from Webbs in Wychbold (just south of B'ham). They often have a good variety of Axies in stock. They arn't overly informed though, so be prepared for a few blank faces if you ask some in depth questions.

I was really disappointed with Shirley aquatics. They had about 15 half sized Axies in one small (3ft) tank. It was really cruel.

Another good place is Midland Aquatics in Bromsgrove (just south of B'ham). They don't have many in the shop, but normally have dozens out the back as they are a wholesaler for a large part of the UK.

If your interested in any of these stores, let me know and I'll post directions or links.

£9.95 in mine...2 for £18....i get 2 for £10 as i work there :D

Hi, I was quoted £26 for 1, but apparently they are seasonal...may/june they get an influx of new stock ( breeding season like frogs) I actually got my lovely 2, plus tank and filter free of charge through http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/. I know a few people who are rearing stock that will be ready around May, and I would have waited and picked up some of theirs had I not acquired my two. The best thing would be to link up on their axolotl forum and see who has stock...its great to have access to the breeders who love them and can give you all the correct imfo. All the best

I only bought mine for £6 but that wasn't from a pet shop, it was just off someone who had accidently gotten a load of eggs. The axi was a few months old when i got him tho, dunno whether that would affect it or not.

I got mine from Dobbies garden center outside glasgow for £22.50 they had about 7 in a really small tank together and ther was a really big 1 who really dominated them all.

My first with was bought about a year ago cost £7.50 in the same shop they now cost 17.50 he says this is because the main supplier to british pet shops cannot supply them anymore (legal reasons can now only be supplied to labs) and that now the hobbiests are the only source for the pet trade. He also stated that the first breeder had given up (the one which bred the first axie, which i was shoked to hear) and the new breeder keeps putting the price up. I suppose everyone has to make a living.

£22.50 from Dobbies garden centre outside Ayr. My axie is huge and in great condition, though.
