The Cute Axie Pictures Thread #2

Here are some old photos of my axies...

First one is a photo of Bela (golden) and Pierre (pink)
Pierre was sold to a friend, but Bela is still with me ^^

Second photo is Bela when she was 7 months

Third photo is my wild type female called "Freda" when she was a baby :)

I love your axies :)

Just curious what type of filtration you've used for your axies - the gills are beautiful :D

Hi Nikki :)

I use a strong biological filter and an external filter (Atman-800) with activated charcoal (I don't know how you used to say that in english, sorry).

The Bela's gills were always like that ^^ but I notice that when I increased the height of the tank (more water) and increased oxygenation of the water, it makes their gills look pretty.

I took one more funny photo, look to these sisters together :D

Hi,

Neptune is one of my favourite juveniles as I love his trident shaped gill

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359469700.533614.jpg

And this is Goliath, he/she is our largest juvenile, about twice the size of most of the others.

I hope you like them. I'll start snapping away tomorrow to get some more photos to add. What a great thread :)

Oh my god... that trident gill <3

I wish I had a gill like that!

Neptune lost his trident gill today :-(
Golliath his previous tank mate munched it off. I am really sad as he was my favourite. Neptune is now recovering in his temporary container. Not sure what else I can say... I wish it would magically grow regenerate.

I probably shouldn't have left Neptune in there with Goliath. What was I thinking!?!

Don't beat yourself up Kerry - unfortunately these thugs happen
even with all the love & caring sometimes accidents do happen.
Maybe it'll grow back like a trident again that'd be cool! :D

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!
