wooohoooo. stoked.

Wildtype (?) - think female - Juliet (who-lee-et, after julio - last axie)

and leuistic male- unsure on name, possibly Casper

Tank's new background (trying it out) - a Surfer getting barrelled
53093.jpg

Juliet has decent gills, and has a huge tail etc, seems pretty healthy. The white one was a notch or two on his tail, and a previous wound. Will fatten him up though.

And the tank as a whole. Have a couple of pieces of planted driftwood in each back corner, although one is just a root system that was eaten away that I'm gonna try to regrow. There's another small potted plant doing the same in diffent tank.
Casper (?) loves the tunnel already. pics of that to come later.

:D

Gorgeous tank and axies! That cave is really cool. :D

Casper is a pretty cool name by the way.

wow i love the axolotl "juliet". She's such a pretty colour! That tunnel thing is pretty cool too

First axie was julio, like the cheesy latin crooner. Had to be a mexican sounding name. Watched Romeo and juliet with girlf a while ago and the maid calls her "who-lee-ette" and always thought it'd sound cool. Shame I HAD to use it, but suits her

Both eaten 2-3 worms already and starting to get adventurous around the tank :D

I love mexican sounding names! I have Tijuana, Tequila, and Julius (not sure if thats mexican, but whatever, it sounds cool).

Love the tank, and your axies look like they are enjoying the digs. Where did you get the tunnel? what is it made of? Looks cool.

Pales in comparison to yours Sin Sister, but I'm pretty happy! Been waiting the last few days for the animals to be ready, and damn happy they're home now! Yabbies just weren't as interesting!
tunnel seems a hit, especially with the leuestic

tank looks great Charlie

and axies seem to like that cool lookin tunnel.
love the colour of ur brown one too

blah Charlie! besides, i'm back to square one again thanks to my partner changing the water and not putting water conditioner in the water, hence killing all my good bacteria and one axie, so my poor axies are back in the fridge again while it cycles again for the second time. ARGH!

any way, juilet looks like a little tiger ready to pounce and casper has got the sweetest little face.

WHAT??? oh no!
Sorry to hear. Your axie or your partners?

I've still got a few changes to make as things settle, plants grow, I acquire a few other things (proper light, etc) and learn what will work best for the kids. But I'm really happy with it for now
happy.gif

These two seem so much easier to feed than julio. Will make life easier!

Very nice axies Charlie. Ive been waiting for you to post some

Nice work - looks great! And again, VERY NICE axies!!!!

OH and the axies look awesome in that tube/cave!!
The leuistic looks like a real leader
** how cute **

Jojo, I don't know if he's a leader, but he seems to think the cave is his domain!
Think I've already got the urge to re-arrange the tank for them. Think they need a driftwood cave as well, so juliet has somewhere!
Will clean out the filter and have a go. Photos will follow.

Urge overtook me yesterday and I re-arranged the tank. Will get some photos.

And after a bit of discussion with girlf, flatmates etc, decided that the leuistic male is Pedro. To stick with the mexican thing.
Juliet and Pedro.

I really like the ceramic pipe! Very creative, makes a great home, and beautiful tank by the way
happy.gif

yan - its one tank, but shows what a difference the lighting can make when taking photos.

And Rheann - I wish I could say I designed or made the pipe, but it was a purchase from my lfs. He's a lovely old guy who tends to have accessories/food/etc pretty cheap think it was about $25-$30 but I saw it and had to have it! They both seem to love it though, its ceramic and nice and solid

It looks perfect in the kind of tank setup you have Charlie! Nice find!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
