They sure are nice! I've sworn off keeping any European newts (other than my pleuros) as part of my consolidation efforts, but there are quite a few European species for sale here in Japan these days, including this T.montandoni I snapped at a shop today:

same shop as the one with that red cynops?-i see the same shedding problem....
 
Yep, I agree. From skin texture this animal is in its terrestrial phase, consider keeping it in a drier environment.
 
Paris, no, it's a different shop in which all the newts and sals, about a dozen species in all, were kept in miserable conditions and were skinny and close to death in some cases.

Ralf, I didn't "snap" it up to take home. I just meant I "snapped" a picture of it.
