What an awesome surprise! I was cutting back some overgrownplants in my bluetailed fire-bellys' tank and luckily dumped them into a container with a bit of water just in case I wanted to use the cuttings. A couple days later I used a sprig in a small temp tank for a some new fish. Next morning I thought the fish had given birth, but when I looked, gills! I think I squeed! I check the overflow container and sure enough there were some in there too, as well as eggs! Checked the tank next and yep! Eggs and larvae! No idea how many, but I've counted at least 25. I was expecting to have to wait at least two more years for these guys to be old enough. Now I'm scrambling to get food. Have brine shrimp going, chopping up black worms. Will try getting the daphnia going this weekend. So far everyone is looking good (it's been two weeks). The little guy in the picture even has his legs. He's just under an inch and seems to be the biggest so far. Open for advice. I've done some research, just didn't think I needed to use it so quickly. Super happy!!!
