Could somebody clear something up for me?
What exactly do para spermatophores look like?
My newts bred successfully around this time last year & it certainly looks like they are "up to something" again!!!
I noticed a few weird lookin things on the (plastic)plants.
not sure if they are sphores or some kind of parasite critters.

I doubt that they are spermatophores (as they are usually deposited on the bottom of the tank). And I doubt that they are parasites. Probably just some kind of tank critter or crud. Spermatophores usually deteriorate within a few hours. You can find a couple of photos (other species) if you search Caudata Culture for "spermatophore". Can you give a better description?

Thanks jennifer,i had a look at the aquarium critters page & I reckon they are limpets.
i have no doubt that my newts are up to something though... they seem to be inseperable at the moment maybe they knew it was valentines day!
