Sorry

Hmm, I have not recieved any of those e-mails but then I wouldn't collect any animals illegally as
1) I wouldn't want to break the law
2) I would suspect a sting operation
3) Anyone purposely wanting illegally collected animals doesn't deserve to get them.

It would have to be for someone I knew that would seriously work with the animals and I still wouldn't collect them illegally.

Wow, wait a minute Ed...
Do you think I would? I think I have made my opinion damn clear both now and in the past...
A sting operation? These are international requests I have been getting(i.e. not swedes).
I don't know about you but I get the feeling that scams in general are not that unusual, I hope I am wrong.

I wasn't trying to imply that you would but I can see how the sentence structure made it look that way so you have my abject apologies.

I don't know about in Europe but over here in the states, both the state and federal law enforcement officers periodically set up stings. They have even go so far in the past to set up dummy corporations and set up sales with buyers that are looking for shady purchases. This way people who are skating on the edge of legality or are willing to commit an illegal act are lured in and get caught. They have even posed as trafficers from other countries and set up deals that way. We see a number of confiscations at work each year and hear about many others that other Zoos are holding or are looking to find holding space to place the animals. That is why I wouldn't put it past anyone to set up a sting operation (but that could just be my paranoia speaking).

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
