Young Ensatina...maybe 3 cm or so. 2 were found under one small chunk of wood just off a trail.

Bigger individual found another another rather small chunk of wood.

Bratachoseps attenuatus in defense pose.

Danny: Yeah...that is the first thing I noticed upon seeing the little things. They looked almost front heavy. I wonder how big they are when they just hatch?

Pin-pin: Nice finds! What subspp. should that Ensatina be. I have bad luck finding Taricha.
