Smallmouth or E. Tiger?

While searching for calling Spadefoots yesterday, I dip netted some larvae in Kansas City, KS. They are 2-3 inches long. The 2 possibilities are Ambystoma texanum and A. tigrinum. I would appreciate any ID's and explanation as to why its one or the other.

hmm.

Hard to say, probably an A. tex judging by color, but by size maybe a tiger but I'm leaning more towards the tex.
 
Tough call because I haven't seen texanum larvae. However it looks very like a tiger to me.
