Saving the Oriental Fire Newts

Hi Sharon,
Each fall a number of dealers sell marbled salamanders and I suspect your pet store just got them with a shipment of other animals.

Hey Jason, I bet the pet shop was Pet Food Center? Am I Right. I have told the workers about the newts being mixed and the ACF in the tank and all they did was take the ACF out. Also I told them about the newts sometimes wanting to go on land. So i come in next week the tank was half and half, the newts were mixed, but they added Fiddler crabs! And i was notising the crabs chasing and eating on the newts?!
 
Paul, there are a lot more pet shops that do this than one. Almost all the large chain shops do this. If you want to try to change anything, the best suggestion is to harass the employees with caresheets.

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
