I have seachem neutral regulator and alkaline regulator (phosphates)also seachem acid buffer (no phosphate)and alkaline buffer. Is one better to use than the other. My axolotls have plants in the tank. From what I have found it was recommended the regulator over buffer and equilibrium over replenish to remineralize RO water with live plants. Does anyone have any experience with the regulator products? I just happen to have these products and want to use them up but have no experience with the regulator products. I have worked with the buffers.

with proper re-mineralisation there is no need for ph buffers, replenish is more suited for axolotls, where as equalibrium contains high levels of potassium and iron which makes it unsuitable for axolotls but good for plants.
if the ph needs increasing whilst using replenish add enough bicarbonate of soda to bring it up to 7.4-7.6
replenish is very similar to holtfreters but with a lower level of sodium chloride and without bicarbonate of soda (it also works out to be more expensive than making holtfreters although less of a hassle).
the regulators work the same way as buffers to increase or decrease ph whilst maintaining it, unless the ph is high ie.. 8 do not use acid regulator as axolotls are not suited for an acidic environment.

Thanks appreciate the information. I will try to find someone who can utilize those products. When adding holtsfreter solution , should I add 20 % or 40% to RO for a 4 inch axolotl and should I add anything else. When making holtsfreter solution could I switch out Morton no iodine NaCl to omega sea premium marine salt(happen to have on hand). Any info is greatly appreciated!

50% holtfreters should be fine as well as the marine salt being ok.
normally 0.2g/l magnesium sulphate is added to holtfreters (0.1g/l for 50% holtfreters).
