Question: Reaver is Morphing and I have some questions!

Pellets usually aren't as accepted by terrestrial animals. You should soak them a little first to make them softer.

I put a shallow bowl full and misted them. Most of the Pellets were gone when I checked on him. :D

Figured out my problem of why he wasn't taking worms. He is used to me feeding him with my snake tongs. He ate over half a worm.

Is that so.. that's actually very interesting. I don't think ever heard of a terrestrial salamander that eats pellets from a bowl.

Good to hear he ate the worm.

He is fully morphed now! He is so beautiful!

He's a pretty little guy.

If you're not going to put him on dirt any time soon, you should really switch to unbleached paper towels. There are lots of chemicals that aren't salamander-friendly that give them that pretty white color.

Well I was going to get some Eco Earth a couple of days ago, but Petco was out. And most places here haven't put the topsoil out.

Are you considering Unbleached Paper Towels the brown ones?

Yep.

Pet stores can be expensive for things like coco fiber. You can usually find it way cheaper at a reptile show or online.

I'm a little jealous; none of my tigers are grey. The little female has some yellow, but my older two are muddy drab. Lucky!

Hahaha Thank you! Funny thing is I was hoping he would either be Grey or Yellow. I am very happy he turned grey. Well I don't have reptile shows near me...yet. Coco fiber is like $3 here.

Do Tiger Salamanders continue growing after morphing? Or is this as big as he will get?

EDIT: Just found out they shed like my snakes and lizards. So I am assuming yes.
