Please help! Triturus dobrogicus can't move legs

Hi. today I have observer that female hardly moves, is not interested in earthworms however she ate two earthworms two days ago. female also can't finish molting so there is an cuticle ring in the middle of her body. it seems that I am not able to help her with it.. but maybe someone of You has experience with helping newt with molting?

Hi Rudi !
Sorry to hear about your problem with your Triturus dobrogicus. With regard to the shedding [moulting] of old skin,it might be best if you try to roll the band of skin along the trunk [body] of the newt over the lower limbs and along the tail. If the animal has been kept in an aquatic setup I would have thought the old skin would come off easy. However,if the newt is in a more terrestrial setup then it might be a little more difficult to remove. Keep the animal moist [wet] and hopefully the old skin should come off eventually. Good Luck with your efforts. Kind Regards from Richard.

Hi, today I have found female floating on the side, she was not moving. I took her from water to wet land and now she is laying still. http://community.webshots.com/photo/fullsize/2668461200104134270fxBNZM http://community.webshots.com/photo/fullsize/2316669260104134270xxzhyoshe got probably edema, how can I cure it? most likely it is caused by old molts on her skin. already i have removed molts from her, she had one half-removed and one new. she moves front limbs very hardly. i have made tests for ammonia and nitrite in water and it was about 0. what are other factors that affect the very frequent moulting? i was changing water at female's tank almost every other day for water from male's tank (52l). i was also removing litter
