Question: Planning to keep axies in NC.

Fan seems fine, not sure about the screen - I think people have used "egg crate" (I had to google image that one) quite successfully before, that would probably be cheaper also.

I don't recommend the fluval stratum, in another thread someone mentioned if it gets stirred up it can create quite a mess, and axolotls have a tendency to freak sometimes and go smashing into things. Also, it looks like it might be a little bit big...I don't know it's composition but could end up being an impaction risk? You'd be better off going with an inert substrate like play sand which won't contain any chemicals that could harm your axies - a lot of the plant substrates have random things in them which might be considered bad, though there are a few which are okay. Do some research, the search function on this forum is invaluable.

And the filter looks fine. :D

Just an update! This is what my tank looks like now after replacing the substrate and changing the decorations. I was able to order two juvenile axolotls from Jay, one leucistic gfp and one melanoid gfp. the lecistics where smaller in size so he was kind enough
to add one more for free. It hasn't arrive yet, and would like to receive feedback regarding
my current setup.
