Just wondering if it's ok to feed phoenix worms (soldier fly larvae) to axies. I have them on hand for my beardies and while feeding them earlier I wondered if they would be good for Frank and Beans too. They don't have a hard exoskeleton or anything like that. Does anyone have experience with feeding them or know if they'd be ok?

Do you happen to know how much fat, calcium, protein, etc. are in the worms? I've been reading and apparently phoenix worms are similar to calci-worms, which are somewhat decent snacks for axolotls, but not in large amounts.

Likew most other maggot/larvae types they are edible, but should only be used as an occasional treat rather than a staple.

I thought they would be an interesting treat for them but treats are only good if they like them....which they do not seem to. Hmm. Gave them one each and they both spit their worm out and swam away. I took that to mean "thanks but no thanks mom". Ah well, thank you both anyway!
