Great looking little guy! I think its so nice that someone is breeding these rare newts. Nice job Paul, I feel envy everytime I glance at this thread.

Keep up the good work Paul ;).

Those are marvelous specimens. How would someone go about if he was planning to breed these guys?

Also, what would be the ideal temp range for these guys?

Seems rather interesting that simply changing the water with cold water can induce these guys to breed.

It's almost as if they were copying Corydoras, but with cold water!

No, this is just a support!
The other factors also must be right.

Great video, thank you.

Dear Paul,

Can you write up a caresheet and breeding information for P.laoensis and post it on the caudata website ?

you works are truly amazing!!! :D

Your experience and techniques will bring much help to fellow hobbists and newbies like me.

i hope to breed my P.chinensis,
and looking at your threads gives me all the positive feelings!!! :p

Thank you and have a nice day!!!

Re: AW: Paramesotriton laoensis breeding, chapter 2

Hi Paul,

you are cool.:D

Just a suggestion.

Why not post it on the caresheet list here?
is seems like this site has alot of caudate keepers who keeps Paramesotriton.

your experience and caresheet is going to be a best help for them.:D

Cheers!

We are writing a care sheet in AG Urodela for Amphibian Ark
Until it will be ready you can have a first idea how to manage it here:

I wrote more articles about laoensis, but sorry all in German.

They slipped in Dez. 06 to Jan. 07 - now I can see the first shine at the tail of the deloustali and laoensis males!
Less then two years!

Hi Rob,

the largest is approximately 17 cm.
Yesterday I saw one of the males courting!

Hey Paul, looking wonderful! I wish my 1.1. L. laoensis does breed also for me this year. How are your females right now? Very plump? Or not much?

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!
