I’d like to know what everyone feeds their paddletail newts. I’m aware of the general foods on the menu. However, I’d like to know your detailed feeding system. What do you feed? How much per newt? How often do you offer each food? Spare no detail. Don't forget to specify species. I appreciate any feedback.

I feed my guys and gal trout worms by hands. Usually they will eat 1 every 2 or 3 days. I also feed the bloodworms if they don't eat the trout worms on the 4th day.

I keep labiatus, brevipes, "b" and "d". They are generally fed 1x per week, but occasionaly 2x per week and sometimes in the winter I skip a week. I feed: earthworms, chopped raw shrimp and pieces of fish meat (Tilapia or whatever is cheapest). Sometimes I will offer waxworms from forceps.

I offer bloodworms and earthworms (Eisenia spp.).
Sometimes (when i have them available) i offer also black mosquito larvae and daphnia.
I keep labiatus by the way.

I keep a lone female P.labiatus. She gets earthworm chunks 2x week, and will normally eat only about 3 pieces, even if I offer her more. I also keep the tank stocked with blackworms all the time, and I often observe her stalking and hunting for these around her rocks. In the summer she gets slugs sporadically - basicly when I am gardening and find them. In the winter I offer red wrigglers but she rarely accepts them. And when I think about it I drop in a few white worms, probably about 3x month
Hope that helps,
Heather
