Some more pics taken today. One pair is together in a flower pot most of the time. Water temperature 10C.

They have the funniest face and head shape. Gee, 10C, are you spoiling them rotten or what? I hope that puts them in the mood!

i must have teenage ones -cause all mine do is hang around on the corner filter and sulk. they really dont come out and move about unless there is food in the water, and they dont use the flower pot i made for them! i found out they do like fish though. they ate rosies in 1 day. are these likely to become available again? ive got 2.1, and you have how many? i have never seen any signs of breeding or even the males vent swelling, have you? i think we came to the conclusion before that they dont tail fan, ever seen that since?

I have several groups in different tanks. I have 12 animals total. There are more available if anyone wants to drop the $ to import them from HK. I can't afford the shipping and import fees right now.

I have never seen tail fanning, tail spots or swollen vents. The males do get cloacal papillae and might get a v shaped mental gland , but I am not 100% sure on that yet.

Mine eat worms, live and chopped fish, market shrimp (chopped) and sometimes I hand feed them other things like crickets and waxworms.

Yeah the head shape is weird more like Pachyhynobius than Pachytriton. I think 10C is as low as I can get them in that part of my basement so we'll see what happens......

I have set the different groups up in different sex ratios and numbers to see if that helps my odds.

Not sure if it has been mentioned already but has anyone tried increasing the current as a possible trigger? Seems that might emulate snowmelt on the onset of spring?
