Odd Larvae Eyes? Different sizes?

They are great! I have sold some of the ones with the different eyes, and I have 3 left here that im keeping, one is going to my sister she named him jack sparrow because cos she thinks he is a pirate lol. Ill take a new pic in the morning as its dark in their room and i don't want to scare them with the light! :D Im pretty sure jack is the same one the photo was taken of! She picked witch baby she wanted the same day I posted this thread haha

:eek: I can't believe you sell them so small.

Maybe I'm just over-protective of my little-uns.

Lol I had 180! I was planing on keeping them longer, but I'm pregnant at the moment so the work of moving tubs of water, buckets and stuff for all the tank has been put onto just the husband! So to make it easier on him we sold 130 we still have 50 but they are not from the same bloodline as these particular " odd eyed baby's "

I'm over protective too, I wrote 2 different care sheets on the care of adult axolotls, and larvae. Made a group on face book and talked to each person getting a baby from me for over 2 weeks. Explaining exactly what they would need and how to care for them. Answered all the questions over and over lol
And gave them updates as they grew to be able to take blood worms and frozen daphina on their own.

I showed X-rays of axies that had swallowed large rocks, and gravel and other horror story of mixing species on my face book group and made sure EVERYONE knew everything they needed to know!

Also I found each person though face book through buy swap and sell groups for aquariums in my local area's
Most of them are breeder of fish and have experience with feeding brine shrimp to fry also. So adding that they needed to rinse brine shrimp wasn't a big difference to most of them. {plus the fact I didn't let them go until they could eat frozen foods on their own}

Also since selling them {for $1 each, not for profit just to cover expenses} I have been in constant contact with everyone that has my baby's! :D All are doing great and have got their back leg's at the same time as my remaining one's And the photo of them show they are fat and healthy!

So.. in other words... Im VERY overprotective too!!

Now.. I should go get this photo I have promised!!

Ok so it took ages to get a few photo of the one named "jack sparrow"

He has very odd eye's one looks like it is smaller and more "sinking in"
Also he has this weird spot on his back, that go's across his "shoulders" that's a pinkish coloured patch. He has no shiny eye ring.. Suggesting he is melanoid... But with the pinkish patch.. Im very confused.. lol

Edit: Also wanted to add he is about 3.5cm.. and is growing pretty slowly compared to the rest of my baby's in other lots, all the baby's from this bloodline are growing slowly, even though feed the same. He is JUST got tiny visible back leg bud's.. {not visible in photo}

cute! A lot of people have said that melanoids grow slower than other axies. I don't have a melanoid myself so I can't add my own experiences.

I generally don't sell any axies until they have fully developed back legs and are about 3 inches or so long. A lot of people who raise axies lose larvae up to this stage from genetic defects etc, some people have lost whole batches of axies, who looked perfectly normal up to growing their back legs. I'd hate having to sort out that many refunds!

You should get your other half to lug all the water (I generally do). I have a load of 30L storage bins now that he fills up and treats, and I just take what I need from there. The bins are right next to my babies' shelves which makes it easier. My other half is a saint though, I currently have 8 fish tanks and when it comes to cleaning time I syphon the water into the bucket then stick my thumb over the end while he gets rid of the old water. Well it's a good workout for him anyway!

My husband does all the work, as well as looking after both the kids {Ryan 5 and Madi 2} at the moment due to how sick I currently am due to medical conditions and pregnancy. At the moment I can barely do anything so he is over run especially with my oldest Ryan, he is autistic and is very used to routine and with me not being able to help with him, he doesn't like the new changes. {enough personally stuff lol}

The baby are all doing great at their new homes and most people got 2-3 each in case something genetic does go wrong. Everyone is aware of the risks and are happy to raise them from the stages they are at. A lot wanted them from a smaller stage but I didn't allow it until they were on frozen foods. I never expected to sell them all so soon but once the add was up, I had so many people respond to it! I was generally just trying to pre-advertise!
