NO gill floofs WONT eat

Ohhhhhhh I sure hope so!! I e been calling it a he so I won’t be disappointed when it turns out to not be a girl which is what I’m REALLY hoping for 🤞🏻

I rinse the wigglers like 5 times before I feed him, and he’s never had any issues. I think earthworms may still be a bit too big for it because I’m still having to cut the wigglers into 4-6 pieces?
i believe it's something inside the wigglers that has the bitter taste, but i'm not about to eat one and find out. if he's eating the wigglers fine then you don't need to change to earthworms yet, but my girl loves them :)

Looking back, I see the paleness now too though it's possible it's just inactivity, from not eating, or just the lighting...
i think it is, considering his color changed when he began moving around/eating as pictured above

It’s only about 7 inches now though.. still seems to small for a January hatch? I am really hoping he turns out to be a she 🤞🏻😬🤞🏻
in my experience they grow at about an inch a month as juveniles, so by some standards he may be a little small- but nothing to worry about. probably just genetics playing a role in his size.
still think it's too early to tell for certain but at nine months i'm inclined to think he is really a she :)

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
