new to axies, need help with water chemistry

thanks! not too sure about that either - the good bacteria thing. Any way i can encourage good bacteria and still keep ammonia levels down? anyone?

Just curious how are you cycling your larger tank, which they'll move to when it's cycled, what are you using to cycle it? Are you using a chemical called cycle or using goldfish or what? And do you test the tankwater in that one, if you do what are your test results for it?

I have nothing to add really except hello and welcome.

okay - new tank has been cycling for a couple of weeks now. readings are: ammonia =.25, PH=6.4, nitrites=0, nitrates=0. Is it okay to put my axies in now? they are currently still in the holding tank [1ft], which is too small for them, i'd just like to get them in the big tank now. Have had a couple of medium sized fantails in the big tank to help cycling, will get rid of them when the axies go in, or are they okay together? will post tank pic for viewing...
