New tank cycling

I always use it when ever I do a water change.
Oh okay, so like you add it to the dechlorinated water and then add that to the tank? Is there an actual johns solution you can buy or do you have to make the solutions because I keep trying to google where to find it and it’s just giving me recipes to make it.

you might be able to find somewhere in the us that make it but it is quite a simple solution to make.
john's solution.. NaCl/salt 1g per litre, MgSO4.7H2O/magnesium sulfate/epsom salts 0.1g per litre, NaHCO3/sodium bicarbonate/bicarbonate of soda 0.1g per litre.

Okay great thank you. Hopefully this helps.

Will this hurt him? Also I have aquarium salt. He looks like he has a fungus one minute and then the next he doesn’t. The fungus doesn’t look like the picture I’ve seen. He’s got like white patches in his actual hill stalks and from those white patches it looks at first like fungus but a closer look, it looks like he has a thousand little gills growing from that place. I can move him from one area to the next and it’s like I don’t see the fungus anymore. If I put the salt in the tank and let’s say he doesn’t have the fungus is it going to harm him maybe even kill him? Should regularly putting the salt in his tank normal or only when I think he’s got something? I attached pictures of what I’m seeing, the quality is really bad but it’s the best I can do. This has been making me consider if I would buy live plants for his new tank to prevent this from happening again.
Our axie had some fungus and I did a salt bath daily for 5 days and have been adding 2g per L of salt to the tub water while we are cycling the tank. He’s doing much better now and very active and eating again. Will be using the Johns solution recipe in the tank when it’s finished cycling as we have all the ingredients for it already.

Oh great!! I’m glad your axolotls doing good. I decided that I’m going to just give him salt baths for the next couple days. I’d rather be safe than sorry. Definitely going to be using the solution when I do water changes now. Id gladly do that every water change to prevent him from having a fungus again.
