Rob, your new avatar is adorable! Did you make it yourself?

Well I'm going to consider myself middle aged, and say I don't really mind
I request an 'alright' or 'okay' button...

or perhaps a 'whatever' button?

Really, I see this is two forums: The professional side (which is moderated), where good science is spread, and the 'omg look at my axie' side, which is where kids (and kids at heart) can get together and show off all their pets and still get good advice.
Very true, Kaysie, well put.
There's a fantastic balance between 'scientific' and the 'social' aspect on this forum which is to be applauded, and is in my opinion one of the qualities which makes this site a real gem.
Maybe I should reluctantly face up to grim reality ........ I'm a grumpy old man (living in the body of a 40-something year-old) who doesn't like Facebook.

PS. @Mewsie "whatever" .....great suggestion:rofl:

@ mewsie- I was about to say the same thing!

@ Erin- I agree. How did you do that?

This is the only forum i know where there is room for all the different ways to enjoy this hobby without conflict. We have professionals, and we have the freshest newbies, we have scientific topics and threads about which animal is cuter, crazy color morph lovers and "purists" (and all the spectrum between any of those). And everyone gets to enjoy their animals and to experience the hobby their own way. May it last long!

Thank you
I trained the newts to spell my name out! and as I explained to zoezakella, the differing shadow angles you may notice, are a phenomenon in my corner of the UK!

Seeing as I can no longer like or dislike anything, I would certainly 'whatever' your 'whatever' button suggestion

I think I will remove that facebook like link at the bottom left of the first post in each thread, since it is somewhat redundant now. Any objections?

I don't care if some funless moderator removes this post, if these people have right to willingly annoy me, i have right to express my rage! Earthworms are more gentle than you, nasty boys and girls!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
