New Ambystoma opacum

Last night was very wet and fairly mild here, nightcrawlers were out...and the salamander games 2013 began. Or were first observed this year. Four animals out of my five were busy running around the tank and there was some wrestling in the dish. It is mostly covered with a piece of cork bark so unfortunately I couldn't see well but there definitely was some action. I wonder if two males could have been fighting over a potential egg-laying site. Unfortunately they must have noticed me after a short while and ceased all activities, when I went to check later, they were still in a frozen mode. Their general rubbishness as pets really makes me appreciate these brief moments :D

The truest statement I have ever seen in this forum, they look really nice but you need to dig them up to see if they are alive.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
