Neurergus strauchii strauchii video

thanks for that video Mark. Always fun watching newts eat.

I'm not sure if it's drama or sci-fi, but I can't wait for the sequel! They look great, Mark.

Great video again Mark! How did you 'train' your newts to accept the frozen bloodworm (I just assume these were frozen)?

I normally get larvae feeding on live bloodworm as soon as they are able. This way they get used to the taste and the transition from live to frozen is then not so hard. After only a few sessions of wiggling the frozen around they soon work out what to do. Bloodworm are pretty stinky and the newts quickly associate the smell with food. With the exception of my Ambystoma all my caudates eat frozen bloodworm as part of their diet – including the terrestrial ones. Sometimes you just need a lot of patience!
