My axies are agressive to me !!!

I call them ninja bites & it's hilarious when I get 'attacked' :)

<3 >o_o< <3

Lol, me too :')

Anyway. They're not that agressive as we think. They snap at everything that moves. Finger, sibling, random tank mate, plants that wiggle in front of them (Xotl is a Master Plant Killer 3000). That's just how they are 'programmed'.
How can something so cute be evil and dangerous :) (Or it's a demon in disguise...)

My juvie melanoid, Toothless, is only 5 weeks. One of the most curious axies of the bunch! He'll sit and stare at me... and it won't be for food! The first time I stuck my finger in after I discovered he didn't want food, he tasted it and ran away. Then a min later, again, came up to surface with "begging" face on... so I stuck my finger in the water and he only came near it, not touch it. So I ever so gently touched it to his mouth and he didn't run away! :) I can only imagine what's going on in that axie brain, everytime he's not hungry and starts observing me obsessively, haha! I can't wait until s/he has the big tank to observe me from :3

For me, this feisty behavior is one of the most charming things about axolotls! Because he knows where his food comes from, my Pepito swims towards me and waves his little feet when I stand near his tank. And gets very excited when worms come his way. Sometimes he chomps too early and sends himself reeling around his tank. He's amusing, that lilttle hungry chomps-a-lotl.

My little guy became much more aggressive than usual after I'd had someone watch him for a couple weeks while I was out of town. I couldn't figure out why he was SO aggressive towards me (I have a video...it's pretty wild), but then I came across something that made me think that maybe he was just really, really hungry. The person who was taking care of him fed him every other day, and I feed him every day. I increased the amount that I fed him each day, and he has gone back to his normal temperament. (He still snaps at me sometimes, but he doesn't seriously attack me now like he was doing there for a while.) Also, he did not appear to be underweight when I got back into town (but he's definitely not overweight now).

Not sure if this is helpful, but it's what my experience with this behavior was. :)

UPDATE-

Sorry, I didn't know where to post this, but I found another (much smaller) batch of eggs this morning, which I think explains the recent behavior.

If you go back to my first post on here, I said that I thought I'd disturbed 'mum' laying (you don't have to, I just said it again).

It's obvious now that she was just desperate to lay the rest of her eggs, and had been badgering the two males for 'magic sperm pyramids'. I found a couple floating around yesterday (they don't stick to bare tank bottoms or bad luck?) and had to be careful when I did my water change.

Thing is, I still don't think she's finished, she was up in the plants and swam off fast just like last time.

I think I've already got a taker for these, (he was going to take last years kids when I said I'd run out of eggs before) but if there are any left over I'll offer them on here.
