Moss balls in cold aquarium

I heard that they can go brown in cold water, anybody had any luck with these (the marimo moss in particular) in a cold water aquarium?
 
I've had one in a basement tank since about December, and the water down there has been about 50-53 F. It's doing fine. I was told to roll it around a bit once in a while so it doesn't settle in one spot. I move it when I do the water change (about every 2 weeks). It's still green as ever.

I have them in my Axolotl tanks and they are fine.
Still nice a green and i've had them about 6 - 8 months

Thanks guys thats super, I might just get myself one on ebay I reckon they are rather pretty!
 
If you haven't gotten one yet, I recommend using aquabid.com instead of ebay to get one.
 
Moss Balls can acclimate fairly well in Tropical tanks but in all honesty do best in cold water tanks ( room temps ).

I agree with staying away from EBay. Lots of people glue or somehow attach moss to a foam ball or racket ball and pass them off as Moss Balls.

You can do a Google for them and you'll find that they are native to some pretty cold areas on the globe.
