More triturus splits

i noticed this when i was browsing round the russian caudate registery:
1) Mesotriton (Triturus alpestris)
2) Ommatotriton (Triturus vittatus)
3) Paleotriton (Newts of the "vulgaris" group)
4) Triturus (Newts of the "cristatus" group)
so it seems vittatus has been given it's own genus!

i think i'm going to sit this one out by keeping them all in triturus till everything has been sorted out.

How about to put each species into its own genus ?
And then each genus into its own family ? Go scientists .

The Russian site uses Paleotriton instead of Lissotriton..(they are probably not aware of the spanish publication) and...Ommanotriton is new for the vittatus/ophryticus species, but not fully accepted yet.
Please see my comments in the other issue; take note that only the Zoological Commission in the end says what's right or wrong...

What are the opinions on T. pygmaeus being a separate species from marmoratus? Caudata Culture has chosen not to recognize it, but should we? My understanding is that the evidence is a bit weak.
