Illness/Sickness: More black specks, tiger acting sick

You use a screen top for ventilation?

Just wondering, good ventilation! Keep us updated with the baytril.

He ate two crickets today. I'll try feeding him some more later tonight. He refused to eat the cricket with the baytril on it, as if he smelled it, so I squirted the baytril in when he opened his mouth to swallow.

He burrowed in the dirt last night instead of staying on top of it like he was doing for two days. Hopefully that's a good sign.

How's this champ doing? All set now?

He's not acting too good. The black spots haven't gotten any worse, but he won't eat and he's just generally acting sluggish and ill :/

I'm not sure what to do aside from hope for the best.

Hm, perhaps its time to consult a vet once again if there's no real sign of improvment. Perhaps call that vet that you mentioned before, the one that's two hours away. Perhaps they could give you some ideas over the phone on what may be going on. It sounds like the baytril isn't helping in any case so it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and see what they say.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted. I've been busy and I haven't called the vet yet, but she (I found out it's a female) has been acting normal for a couple days now after she shed some more and soaked in the water bowl, and yesterday and today she greedily snapped up two pieces of a big nightcrawler. I looked at her just now and she's not acting or looking sick. But she's flat out refusing to eat crickets, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Glad to hear that she has a bit of an appetite back. Perhaps all she needed was some good ol' nightcrawlers. Have the spots gone away or are they still there? I know people say that tigers are voracious and will eat anything but in my experience with my male, they can be picky sometimes. He seems to only have an appetite for superworms. He'll eat crickets but not with the gusto he has with his superworms. And he'll sometimes eat a nightcrawler but he never has that much enthusiasm at eating them.

They've been mostly gone for going on three days now, after she shed. I'll check tomorrow morning and see if there's any changes.

That's great to hear, hopefully she's on the mend.

She ate some crickets last night. When I checked on her, she had just shed some skin off her tail. So I assume whatever the specks are, they came back but she shed them soon after. Hopefully she keeps this up and gets better.

Hey guys, just wanted to post an update for some closure if anyone was worried. 7 months later now, she hasn't been shedding as much and she's been eating anything I feed to her and soaking regularly.

Thanks for the help.
