Microcosm 2010

We were having some glitches with the field trip sign-up page, but have fixed them and it is up and running once again: Field Trip | Microcosm 2010

Also, if you scroll down, you will see we have compiled a list of Microcosm-esque places for people to check out who will be there on Friday but choose to not come along on the field trip. And, of course, that evening is our herpetological lecture series featuring John E. Simmons and Mark Pepper: Speakers | Microcosm 2010

Just a few weeks to go...looking forward to meeting those of you who will be attending!

A few glimpses of some of our planned sites for the field trip:

Hey Ron, any chance you'd spot me the airfare? :)

If I could, John, I most definitely would. To lessen the sting, I'll refrain from telling you about all the Dicamptodon tenebrosus larvae we managed to find in that last picture...

If you don't book your hotel rooms for Microcosm directly with the hotel or online by clicking here: http://embassysuites.hilton.com/en/e...l?WT.mc_id=POG , our rental costs increase exponentially. So, if you've not yet reserved your rooms, please do so through the website or specifically mention over the phone that this is for Microcosm. The deadline for reserving rooms in the Microcosm block and getting the associated event rate is August 23!

That's not a real link Ron.

Found a way to get off of work. Planning on going again! Anyone interested in splitting a room/carpooling send me a PM. Would be fun to have a C.org delegation there.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
