I got some Micro Marino Moss Balls (bonus picture of 'Lil 'Lola grabbing one) I just wanted to double check that I will need to remove them and replace with larger Moss Balls when the 'lotls get a bit larger? Or because of their nature to break apart if roughly handled they might be okay?
Considering setting up a food shrimp colony that I could use them for instead if that's the case and if my OH let's me (he's not really happy about the 'lotls (they creep him out a bit)). Curious to know what kind of shrimp is easiest to care for that's still a good snack.

I managed not to make an unmanly squealing sound because my dad is visiting for the weekend, but it was a near thing.

So cute!!! I have the same hide as well, my copper Steve loves it
Usually when something is smaller than their heads there is a risk they will eat it, but I haven't read anything before where an axolotl has eaten a moss ball. They are soft so if they started to eat it it shouldn't get stuck, but would probably be spat out.

My axolotl have taken chomps out of my much larger marimo and passed them without any trouble so I don't think there's a safety issue, but they very well may eat them once they get larger!

 I think I can live with that if they're going to be fine.
Thanks for sharing!

I got really worried there for a minute because at first I thought you were squealing because I did something wrong!
I'm glad you think she's a cutie. :)
